FedEx Acquires Etihad 777F

Federal Express (FedEx) has acquired a Boeing 777F from UAE national carrier Etihad Airways. The aircraft was previously wet-leased to the American cargo giant in December 2020, however, the aircraft will now be permanently joining its fleet.

The aircraft was previously registered A6-DDA and delivered to Etihad brand new in June 2011. A6-DDA will now fly under the registration of N840FD.

The acquisition takes FedEx’s 777F fleet to 46 of the type with a further 6 on order. Etihad, on the other hand, will see their cargo fleet reduced to 5 777Fs.
