Thursday the 26th of November was a momentous occasion for the United Arab Emirates and Israel as it saw the first commercial flight between Dubai and Tel Aviv occur. The flight was launched in response to the normalisation in the relationship between the UAE and Israel which occurred in September.
The flight, FZ1163, departed Dubai at 9:40 am and was operated by the low-cost carrier, Flydubai. The airline will operate the route 2 times a week.
Other UAE based carriers, Emirates and Etihad, along with Israeli airline’s El Al, Israir and Arkia will also start services between the two nations.
UAE and Israeli citizens can visit each other’s country without applying for visas as both countries have agreed on visa-free travel.
