Rex Grounds Boeing 737 Fleet Due To Lockdowns

Australian airline, Regional Express (Rex) has suspended its inter-city flights, effectively grounding its new Boeing 737 fleet. The move will occur with immediate effect.

Flights between Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide and the Gold Coast have all be suspended, due to border closures and lockdowns.

A media statement from the airline says

Domestic and Regional routes on Rex’s network in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and Tasmania will be either temporarily suspended or greatly reduced until the end of the State Government imposed border closures and/or lockdowns,”

Recently a number of Australian states and city were thrown into lockdown after a number of COVID-19 cases were found
